- How old are you?
I am 23 years old

- Where did you grow up?
I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia for most of my life. Born in Wayne, New Jersey and moved to Georgia when I was 3. Moved back up north 4 years ago. Recently moved to Brooklyn in August.

- Why do you like NYC?
Why do I love NYC? What isn't there to love about NY should be the question. From the bodegas on every corner to the diverse individuals you will bump into every day, it is one of the most intriguing cities. I am constantly surrounded by people, but at the same time I am enjoying my solidarity because everyone here is doing their own thing. New York is a hub of cultural diversity, ethnic acceptance and the heart of innovation and creativity. It's a busy city but there's always something new to do. What more could you ask for?

- Why did you come to NYC specifically?
I came to NY specifically because I knew a big city is where I belonged. I was living in New Jersey working and every chance I got I was in New York on weekends visiting my friends and exploring all the city had to offfer. I wasn't sure when my time would come but I knew it would be soon. I created a plan on how I would afford my living expenses and where I will work and here I am, living my life in New York City!

- What are you doing here now?
I am in New York participating in an Americorp program called City Year where I mentor and tutor kids in underserved communities. I work at Starbucks on the weekends and I'm a house leader at the Ridgewood Outpost House. I'm busy a lot of the time, but I make sure to take advantage of what the city offers.

- What do you like about Outpost Club and why did you choose us?
I chose Outpost solely based on what the house provided and the experience I knew I will gain from living here. I figured I'll be busy a lot but I knew I had to take advantage and benefit from my time at Outpost. The best part about living here is  creating friendships with people from all around the world and different ethic backgrounds. I still keep In contact with some of them to this day after they have left the house. The connections I've made with such incredible individuals will never fade.

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all."
-Helen Keller

I took a risk when I moved to New York since I will finally be on my own. After the move, so many opportunities and adventures have followed me a long the way.

You can make great memories

You can make great memories

Sergey and Alex are great host and I really recommend their place to stay. From the first day, Sergey was waiting for us in front of the door and was always willing to help us. In addition, during my stay, every housemates were nice, kind and sociable. We hanged out to city sometimes and had party for Christmas and New Year as well.

I will miss the long discussions we all used to have

Alex and Sergey are not just two wonderful hosts but also amazing people. They will take care of anything you would need and make sure you are at ease throughout your stay. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Sergey is highly meticulous about cleanliness and makes sure the house is well maintained.

Meet other interesting people from all over the world

Great place. Very nice and caring host - always ready to help and ensure you're having a good time. I have now been visiting this place twice, and both times I had a great experience. I can recommend this place, if you want a nice and affordable place to live, and want to meet other interesting people from all over the world. There are also good opportunities to work there.

This place is one of the best living spaces that I have ever lived in

This place is one of the best living spaces that I have ever lived in. The owner is welcoming, the backyard is spacious, and I have all the basic amenities that I need in the house (e.g. AC, kitchen etc). I became friends with the people that I live with, which is probably the highlight of my stay, since everyone has interesting backgrounds. This place is very close to the 2/5 train, which is very convenient for me to get to Manhattan. I would recommend this place to any longer-term young traveler!

Juste parfait!

Just perfect! The location is ideal, close to the New York center. Alex is a great host and very kind, he made sure to make things easier for everyone and is always good advice! The house is very modern and tasteful, and very well maintained, I saw Alex repair the coat rack, he offered us a nice Christmas tree, he present us his friends... thank you very much Alex, and thank you to my roommates Osée, FRANCE

Juste parfait! Vous me manquez déja!!!!

From the very First moment i loved the house

From the very First moment i loved the house, both because of the quality of the infrastructure and the people staying in it. A very friendly / working environment from minute 1, you can chat but you can also work and focus. Great night sleeps, doesn't feel too much like a dorm, perfect temperature controls of the different rooms, big screen TV, free coffee in the morning, Internet works perfect, showers too etc. Right outside the subway station (30 seconds walk max) and a few stores around so all you need is there. Would recommend for long stays or just a small cheap pop in and out I would even say it is almost too comfortable.
